Bob Garrett (lyricist) starred on Broadway in Grease, Godspell, Fiddler on the Roof, et al. He later recorded for A&M Records and was a song staff writer for Motown and for TV's Fame. His songs have been recorded by Heart, Smokey Robinson and Michael Jackson. He has also written the lyrics for the Mark Taper Forum production of Stars in Your Eyes, countless songs for films including The Fight Club, and television themes including NBC's Gimme a Break. He teaches musical theatre master classes in Los Angeles and develops new Broadway musicals for BMI. His new musical, Playback, debuted in the spring of 2004. Garrett has also vocal coached and directed countless clients in all phases of show business, including Judy Davis and Tammy Blanchard (Me and My Shadows: Life With Judy Garland), Janet Jackson and Brian Stokes Mitchell.
