Debra Oswald began writing in her teens and now works as a scriptwriter in television, film, radio and theatre. Her credits include the ABC-TV drama series Palace of Dreams, Sweet and Sour and Dancing Daze. She has also written ABC-TV education dramas, short films, film reviews and several radio plays. Her stage play Going Under was produced in Adelaide in 1983. Oswald's first novel, Me and Barry Terrific, is published by Oxford University Press. Dags, winner of a 1986 Australian Writers' Guild award, has been performed in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, Newcastle, Armidale and New Zealand.
