Elissa Oppenheim Schreiner

Elissa Oppenheim Schreiner, Emmy award-winning composer, has written musical scores, sheet music, an opera for children, books (including two jazz duet music books), and many compositions which have appeared in publications throughout the country. Her newly published (Carl Fischer, 2003) book, Playland, is a piano collection specially designed to inspire paino students to add expression and feelings to their music. It consists of 12 of her original pieces. Schreiner has been a dynamic force in music and music composition, music education, composing, producing, performing, supervising recording sessions and surrounding herself with children and their music for over 25 years. Since 1997 she has served as a judge for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Children's Programming Emmy pre-screenings and was invited to be a member of their Blue Ribbon Panel for 1998/1999. Schreiner is a member of The Dramatists Guild, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and her name appears in Who's Who of American Women.
