John Strand's plays include Tom Walker and Lovers and Executioners (Charles MacArthur Prize for Outstanding New Play, 1999), both commissioned by and premiered at Arena Stage, Washington, D.C., and both published by Dramatic Publishing; The Diaries, commissioned by and premiered at Signature Theater, Arlington, Va., also published by Dramatic; Three Nights in Tehran, a comedy about the Iran-Contra affair; an adaptation of Moliére's The Miser; The Cockburn Rituals; and Otabenga, directed by Michael Kahn and nominated for Best New Play, Helen Hayes Awards. Strand currently lives in Maryland with his wife and three children.
