Kirt Shineman is a playwright and dramaturg whose recent productions include The
Mysterious Disappearance at The Theatre Artists Studio (Scottsdale, Ariz.),
Good Grief at the Athena Theatre (New York City) and Stripping Lord
Byron on the Standby for Places podcast. Shineman’s works have played
at multiple conferences and festivals, including The Pornographer at the
Great Plains Theatre Conference, Benkelman and Junction Creek at TheaterWorks’
Dan Schay New Works Festival and Cloning Peter at the Hormel New Works
Festival. He also has had three semifinalist plays at the O’Neill National Play
Conference: Good Grief, Forbidden Glass and Germs and Viruses,
and is a Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival national and regional
finalist for various plays. Shineman’s work can be found in the Stage It! 4 anthology
of 10-minute plays and on the New Play Exchange. As a dramaturg, he’s worked
with playwrights such as Philip Dawkins, Angelica Howland and Y York. He is a
Dramatists Guild and Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas member.
