María Inés Falconi began her activity as a playwright in 1985 with her play Tornillos Flojos (children's rights award from the Permanent Assembly for Human Rights). Since then, she developed an intense activity in theatre for children and young people with more than 35 plays staged by the Grupo de Teatro Catalinas Sur, Buenos Aires, and other companies in Argentina and Ibero-America. The plays have been presented in different festivals around the world and translated into four different languages. Falconi is also devoted to writing novels and short stories for children and adolescents, which are published in Argentina and Ibero-America. She is a playwriting professor of the drama workshop at the Universidad Popular de Belgrano in Buenos Aires. She has been a member of the ASSITEJ International Executive Committee since 2005 and has been vice president since 2008.
