Mark Dunn is the author of over 25 full-length plays and several one acts. Eight of his full lengths and two of his one acts have been published in acting edition including Frank's Life, published by Dramatic Publishing. He is the recipient of several awards for his work for the stage including the Beverly Hills Theatre Guild Nesburn Award (Armistice Day), Charlotte Rep New Play Festival Finalist (The Deer and the Antelope Play), Margo Jones Playwriting Award (Belles), the Hudson River Classics Playwriting Contest (I Hate To Go and Leave This Pretty Sight) and the Playhouse on the Square Playwriting Competition (North Fork). Dunn is playwright-in-residence at New Jersey Repertory Company and the Community Theatre League in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He is also the author of three novels, including Ella Minnow Pea which was a BookSense finalist for best fiction book of the year, a Barnes and Noble Discover New Writers pick and Borders' Original Voices Fiction Book of the Year. He is co-author of the geographical reference book United States Counties and author of the forthcoming Zounds! A Browser's Dictionary of Interjections. Dunn, originally from Memphis, Tennessee, now makes his home in New York City's Greenwich Village with his wife, Mary, with whom he is a founding member of PULA (People United for Libraries in Africa), a non-profit setup to build libraries in villages throughout Africa.
