Marlin Tazewell was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tenn. He received a bachelor's degree in theatre with an emphasis in theatre tech and design from the College of Wooster and an M.F.A. in Playwriting from the University of Southern California School of Theatre. Ain't Nothing But a Thang, while not his first play, is his first fully produced work. Other works include Flipping Through the Pages of Some TV Guide Universe and "Cibling" Disobedience.
