Michael Elkin is the winner of national and regional writing awards and honors including three fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council on the ArtsÑtwo for playwriting, one for screenwriting. He has had 11 plays produced across the country including Los Angeles, Baltimore and Philadelphia. They include Cries in the Night at the Walnut Street Theatre and Fat Chance at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Elkin's work has been listed in Plays of Jewish Interest and Best Plays of 1993. His play Alex and Morris was optioned off-Broadway and given a reading by the Jewish Repertory Theatre and Stageplays Theater. As entertainment editor of the Jewish Exponent, he has done more than 5,000 celebrity interviews. He is a member of The Dramatists Guild. Elkin dedicates his play Class Act, featured in Voices from Ariel: Ten-Minute Plays Reflecting the Jewish Experience, to his beloved, late wife, Maxine.
