Naneki Elliott wrote her first play at the age of 12. After homework was done, she sat at her desk and created Huckleberry Finn-style adventures set on a Mississippi riverboat with her dog, Nellie. Those early dreams of travel materialized in the opportunities to live in Maine, Massachusetts, California and Kentucky and to visit many parts of the world. Elliott's passion for writing found expression in newspaper and magazine writing, copywriting, public relations and as assistant writer of a nonfiction book. Her love of theater drew her to act in community theater and to playwriting. The collaboration with Norma Cole on Just Desserts was one of her most joyful writing experiences. Elliott spent a year in Los Angeles writing screenplays. She has written a novel, Eyes of the Heart, and continues to write plays.
