Born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, Robyn Hutter was early influenced by her father's participation in local community musical theater. She began her musical studies at age seven and eventually studied music at Hunter College in New York City and received her bachelor's degree in music at Cal State University, Northridge, after moving to California. She is also an alumnus of the West Coast Lehman Engle Musical Theatre Workshop. Besides her focus on musical theater, Hutter is active in promoting and maintaining primary musical education within the public school system.
