Sarah Gubbins is a Chicago playwright. Her plays include Fair Use, In Loco Parentis, The Water Play, The Kid Thing (Edgerton Foundation New American Play Award), fml: how Carson McCullers saved my life and I am Bradley Manning. Her plays have been produced at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Actor's Express Theatre, Next Theatre Company, About Face Theatre and Chicago Dramatists. Her plays have been developed at the Public Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, the Goodman Theatre and The Playrights' Center of Minneapolis among others. Gubbins is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists, an artistic associate at About Face Theatre, the 2010-2011 Carl J. Djerassi Playwriting Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a 2011-2012 Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis Jerome Fellow. She holds an M.F.A. in Writing for the Screen and Stage from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill.
