Synopsis

I Will Sing Life is a dynamic and highly theatrical collage of creative writing by and interviews with young people who attend the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp founded by actor Paul Newman for children with life-threatening illnesses. Through their own stories, poetry, songs and skits, these exceptional young people explore feelings about family, friends, romance, illness, life and death. The possibilities for creative interpretation by young actors are limitless and the children's words—wise, humorous, and wonderfully life-affirming—are an inspiration for all ages in the fine art of "singing life."

Customer Reviews

This play taught my middle school students two powerful lessons: tragedy and hope co-exist; and delicately balancing giving and taking the audience's attention.
